To Whom It May Concern,

As you may know, our insurance provider has required all clients renting the Chapel on Echo Bay to obtain a “Certificate (or Evidence) of Insurance”  from your private homeowner’s or renter’s insurance.

So far, most home owner’s insurance companies have complied with this standard requirement without difficulty, although some have required a nominal charge.  This Certificate or Evidence needs to list the Chapel on Echo Bay, 400 6th Ave., PO Box 545, Fox Island, WA 98333 as an additional insured.   They may fax it to us  at 253.549.2473.  It should cover public liability with combined bodily injury and property damage in an amount equal to your home owner’s or renter’s insurance coverage, but not less that $300,000, for the duration of the rental period only (all events, and including rehearsal, wedding, and/or reception as applicable).  As stated in our use agreement, it must also be signed by a representative of your insurance company.  If your insurance provider is unable to issue this certificate, you will need to provide us with a “Short Term Special Event Policy” from a separate insurance agency, at your expense.

Since your insurance provider may require some days to process this document, it would be best to contact your representative soon.  If there is an extra cost, you will certainly want to work it into your wedding budget.  Our contract states that we receive the Certificate no less than sixty days prior to your event.  Please call me as soon as possible if you choose to rent the Chapel so that we can proceed with the arrangements.

Warmest regards,

Deborah Stephens
